Scrap Attack

Scrap Attack was my final project for my second year at Dudley college of Technology and was made in the hidden object genre. The game was made in Gamemaker Studio and the gameplay boiled down to finding all the cars hidden in the level before time runs out. I wanted to test my pixel art skills with the scrapyard setting and took lots of inspiration from other hidden object games like Lets Find Larry.

Scrap Attack was an incredibly feat for me in college and I still hold this game near to my heart when discussing projects I’ve been apart of. This was primarily due to the fact that the creation of the game, at the time, was very ambitious as I had to figure out the blueprinting of Gamemaker Studio to create all of the mechanics. This paired with the fact I had to create all the art, animations, menus, implement sound effects and music, all while creating a game design document made this project incredibly large.

However, despite all this, I managed to finish this project and it was even hosted at the universities end of year event that showcased students work.
